Sell me, or spare me

YOUR state!
Dave and I do an annual anniversary trip to a new state each year. That way, we will God willing, see the entire US together by the time we're old and grey!
Arizona, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa are out...(real exciting so far huh? Except for Arizona which was KICK ASS!!)
We're not sure if kids are coming or not, so tell me...WHY should we come to YOUR state for our September vacation???

New York City-center of the universe. Need I say more?

You're guaranteed to have a great time and see a totally different world than you're used to. Broadway shows, great food, Chinatown, Empire State bldg, Statue of Liberty, subways, Central Park. A few days here will give you memories of a lifetime. And Sept is a great time. Nice mild weather.

I disagree. LA is where its at =)

If you hit this area at the right time of year (and its possible that September is it...sometimes) you can ski and go to the beach all in one day.
Not to mention Disneyland. Beach. Universal Studies. Beach. Hollywood Boulevard. Beach.

Bah. I'd go to New Orleans.

Oh, I love New England! The states are so small that you can visit many in one trip. Connecticut has beautiful forests. Rhode Island has the Newport Mansions and gorgeous views of the ocean. Boston is just an awesome town (I like it much better than NY, sorry, Ladies!). And I've been up to Maine, which is also very beautiful. I miss New England!

PA is a little dull. But there are tons of family-friendly places: Crayola has a park or something, Sesame Street has one, too, and I live near Hershey which has a park and a zoo and good ole' Chocolate World! Mmmm....chocolate.....

it's all about Georgia, with the warm weather, the nice humidity that makes your hair frizz, and the fact that when you get into a pool after all of that heat...it's nice...

and plus, there's all that great southern talking and food. my recommendation is any place that has "Mama's" in it. always a good choice.

Oh come to Utah!!! LMAO

You can go to Temple Square and be talked to by cute Girl Missionaries.
You can look at the pretty Temple, you can drive to Park CIty (which is VERy nice)...ummmm what else do we have here???
Mormons, Mormons and did I say Mormons??

(yes I am one! LOL)

My brother was just here for the first time and I had no idea what to do with him. There isn't much. Lots of church buildings. :)

I'm from L.A. so I think you should go there. Go to Disneyland!! You can go to the beach, you can go anywhere there!! :)

OMG....you MUST go to Texas!!!

And yes, because that's how self-absorbed Texans are...it is the best state in the union.

Specifically you should stay in Austin because it rocks. Not only are there a million things to do (Austin City Limits music festival is in September!!) and fabulous places to eat, but it's an hour from San Antonio (Riverwalk and The Alamo), Dallas (not that I can really think of a good reason to go to Dallas, but you could if you wanted to), Bandera (Hill Country for horse riding), etc. I could go on and on and I would, the only thing saving you is that The Duckling is waking up from her nap.

And BTW, I'm sneaking in your suitcase on the way down, but don't worry, I'll only be with you one way.

TEXAS!!! Where else??!!
It's a huge place, but I would definitely hit Austin (for all the reasons Mama Duck has mentioned and more). San Antonio is nice, but you must also visit some of the smaller ranchy towns that really typify what people think "Texas" is.

Colorado in September: Most of the summer tourists are gone by then and the winter ski tourists haven't arrived yet; mountains are warm in the day and cool at night; you can still catch a baseball game at Coors Field; great food and fun in Denver; Rocky Mountain National Park; Sand Dunes; Mesa Verde; FUN FUN FUN!

Hawaii, of course. No other state is ever referred to as Paradise!

That's a neat idea for an anniversary tradition.
