Apparently a 4yr old doesn't know how to be tactful

As I was changing into my workout clothes yesterday, Logan asks me...

"Mom, do you have a baby growing in your big tummy?"

Yeah, thanks kid.

Needing a bit of your help

I want EVERYONE who stops by this blog...yes, all 3 of you... ;) to do me a HUGE favor!
Go visit MAMA DUCK for me.
You see, I've asked her to train and run a half marathon with me this summer.
Imagine the humor in THAT!
Sure, we'd probably be last, but we could say we ran a half marathon!

There would be clapping and cheering when we crossed the finish line. Well, that is if our husbands had the energy to stay after everyone else has crossed the line. But wait, they'd probably be at the local bar, so we could just clap and cheer for ourselves!
The good news is is that the nearest emergency room is VERY close, so after we get close to death by exhaustion we could be swept away quick!

Go to mama duck and tell her I sent you.
Tell her that I am not going to take no for an answer!
Light a match under her WAY too skinny ass!

And if you've stopped by via The Kept Woman's link-go right back over to her and comment away!
If you help me gang up on her, I think it will work!
If anything, you'll get some fun pictures out of the deal!

Twas the night AFTER Christmas, and all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse....
The children were nestled all snug in their beds...

Need I say any more!

Oh, ok, I'll say it again!
The KIDS are FINALLY asleep!!!

We had a lovely Christmas here.
The kids were of course spoiled like crazy.
A couple of winners this year were the 'Shake and Go Speedway' for Logan which people were spending $75+ on on ebay. (we got it at the store, thank goodness for $38!!)
Also, Logan has been running around saying, "arrr Matee!" (or however you would spell that!) because he got 2 pirate ships, a big treasure chest and a big book of pirate things to make and do.

Miles got lots of cute little baby stuff. Even though he's been walking now for a month, people felt the need to buy him WALKERS. We now own 3. 3 walkers for a family who will never have a newly walking baby again.

I got something I'd been eyeing forever but never would have spent the money on it.
Bare Essentials-who's used it?
I tried it on today and I think I'll LOVE it!

All in all, it was a WONDERFUL Christmas! In fact, the best one so far!
It started with just us for opening gifts, eating lots of 'not so good for you' food, and the outside for some snowman making fun.
Add in hot chocolate and some more goodies and it was a perfect morning.

My family joined us in the afternoon and we opened way too many more presents and stayed up way too late!

I LOVE Christmas.
But, I love that my kids are both in bed right now!
Hope your holiday was just as fun!

What a difference ONE year can make

especially when it's the first year...

Wow

So, as I'm getting SO close to Christmas and Miles' first birthday, I've been quite emotional about reliving everything in my head that happened last year at this time.
Check out this post from one year ago tomorrow...
basketcase

Everything was beginning.
Check out that Blood Pressure.

Hopefully be getting through this year milestone and reliving what I went through will help me truly get over it, move on with it and move past it while holding on to the good memories. Of course I won't forget the bad, but maybe I can process it completely now.
This makes me SO glad that I began blogging.

13 days until Miles' first birthday.

One week and counting

It's hard for a 4 yr old to really realize how many days are left until Christmas.
He asked and asked every day if it was Christmas yet and would get so disappointed when I would tell him there were 20..12..10 days left.
"That will take FORever mom!"

So, we made a chain with one day equaling one link. Each night he gets to cut off a link and count how many days there are left. The chain is getting REALLY short!

We visited Santa Claus in the mall this weekend. The way there I don't think Logan stopped talking for a second going ON and ON about all of the things he wanted to tell Santa.
"I'm going ask if Santa knows where I live! I'm going to ask if he had to bring his reindeer to the mall. I'm going to ask him if he knows his ABC's. I'm going to tell him that I want a pirate ship that is big enough for me to stand in. I wonder if Santa likes pizza............."on and on for a 20 minute drive.

As we begged and pleaded the little elf to let us sneak in the end of the line regardless of the fact that it was Santa's dinner time, Logan was SOOOO excited!
We got in (thanks to the kind elf) and we waited a short while for Logan's turn.
As we got close, Logan grabbed my hand.
I said a big cheery HELLO to Santa, and guided Logan up to him. I knew this would take awhile with all of the questions he had to ask.

I asked Logan if he could tell Santa his name. Logan looked at Santa, then looked at me and quietly said, "my name is Logan." And then I asked if he wanted to ask Santa some questions. Then it sunk in. My sweet boy was completely star struck.
Santa asked Logan what he wanted for Christmas. Logan looked at me and didn't say a word.
Santa asked what he thought his baby brother would want for Christmas. Logan looked at me and shrugged without saying a word.
I asked if Logan wanted to ask Santa anything about his reindeer or the North Pole. Not a word passed Logan's lips.
Santa then asked if Logan was a good boy this year, and to my surprise he said, "I've been good MOST of the time." and Santa gave him a big hug and told him that that was good, and he was proud of him. (GGGGREAT Santa btw!)
We plopped Miles on Santa's lap next to Logan and Miles looked up at Santa like, 'who the HECK are you?' but didn't cry. Logan forced out a fake (hilarious) smile and that was that!

The ride home was very quiet. I could see the wheels turning in Logan's little brain.
As we pulled in the driveway, Logan said, "Mom, Santa SURE is nice!"

There is a small window of opportunity to be 'cute' when your oldest is already 4.
I think that matching outfits is just ADORABLE when it comes to siblings. Does that make me wierd? Maybe! I dreamed of having matching kids on holidays etc...
A 4 yr old is only going to put up with it for so long!
I had to get these hats...

Now I'm on the search for matching jammies for Christmas eve and Christmas morning!
ah, my kids will be so embarassed by me some day, won't they?!
;)

so, that was fun...

After a LONG break, I'm back...I think!
So many little things have happened which I wish I would have written down.
Logan has said so many funny things that I know someday I would appreciate them!

So, the blog that once was has come back to life.
A fresh new start!
I'm not saying that anything I write will be interesting to anyone out there, but it will be for me to look back on one day!

A small recap.
Logan is 4. (insert sobbing slobbering mom who can't believe she is old enough to have a 4yr old)
Logan has new fish. (Fishy-za-zak-zoo are their names)
Miles is walking, and has been for a couple weeks now. (Insert that same sobbing slobbering mom who can't believe that her BABY will be one in a matter of weeks and that she will never have a crawling baby in the house again)
Our business, milobaby, is almost ready to show the world. More to come on that later!
Life is good!
Freaking COLD as hell, but good!!!
